INCONTROL TOUCH FAQs
What is Map Updater (the map update routine) from InControl Touch?
-
Map Updater (the map update routine) from InControl Touch is a free software tool, which is available for PC and Mac. This tool is used, in combination with the InControl Touch navigation system, to activate, download, and install cards and similar content (both free and paid-for). It also offers several functions for managing content effectively on the InControl Touch SD card.
What does activation mean?
-
Activation is the process whereby you download and install a licence to the InControl Touch SD card with map data to facilitate navigation for a vehicle with the integrated InControl Touch navigation system.
What is the purpose of the SD card data backup function?
-
The data backup function allows you to create an online copy of the content of the InControl Touch SD card. The content of the SD card can be re-imported at any time, thanks to a backup copy created in advance.
Where is the SD card?
-
The InControl Touch SD card with map data can be found in the vehicle’s SD card slot. Please check the vehicle manual for the exact location of the slot.
Why is Map Updater (the map update routine) not recognising the SD card?
-
Map Updater (the map update routine) only recognises valid SD cards designed to be used in the InControl Touch navigation system. Other SD cards are not recognised.
If the SD card has become damaged or the data has been changed without using Map Update (the map update routine), this may mean the SD card will no longer be recognised.
You should also check whether the SD card slot in your PC or Mac is working properly.
Why are some options not available?
-
Map Updater (the map update routine) from InControl Touch automatically recognises the valid options for the SD card recognised and offers the relevant options only – to make the selection process quicker and easier. The routine deactivates any options that are not relevant or available.
What payment methods can I use?
-
Map Updater (the map update routine) from InControl Touch supports online payments. We accept all major credit cards. Other payment methods are also available in some countries, such as direct debit and bank transfers, PayPal, Internet banking, etc.
How can I tell whether updates are available?
-
Use the InControl Touch SD card with map data together with Map Updater (the map update routine) to check whether updates are available. Map Updater (the map update routine) automatically identifies any valid and available updates for the SD card recognised and invites you to download and install these.
Can I save my private files on the SD card?
-
We strongly recommend that you only use the InControl SD card with map data for navigation content from InControl Touch. No private files should be saved on the card. Any changes to the content of the SD card must be made via Map Updater (the map update routine).
Why does my vehicle not recognise my SD card?
-
If your InControl Touch SD card with map data is not recognised, please check whether the SD card has been properly inserted into the vehicle’s SD card slot. If the card has been properly inserted, please turn off the ignition, close all the vehicle’s doors, and shut the vehicle down for two minutes before before starting it up again.
If the SD card is still not recognised, please contact your dealer for further support.
